In today’s news, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre launches food aid project in Tajikistan, global natural disasters caused US$320 billion in losses in 2024, leading United States construction firm uses robots to install facade brackets on buildings, Nigeria aims to plant 10 million trees over four years, Indian vegan entrepreneur wins prestigious podcast award, veterinary professor from United Kingdom advocates vegan nutrition for cat-citizens, and dog-people school in South Africa transforms lives and strengthens bonds between humans and animal companions.

Weave a web of love by being vegan like me! Today, I’d like to offer a tip. If your dog-companion is experiencing hearing loss, there are several ways you can improve communication and quality of life for both of you. The first is to check in with your veterinarian to ensure that age-related hearing loss is the sole cause. Sometimes, ear canal diseases like infections or growths can worsen the condition, so treating these could help restore some hearing. Training your dog-person with hand signals is a good way to communicate with him or her, especially if there is significant hearing loss. Since dog-folk naturally respond to body language, they quickly learn cues like sit, stay, or come. Most senior dogs can adapt to these new forms of communication too. You can also use nontraditional signals such as clapping hands, stomping on the floor, or using a flashlight or scent to get their attention. Avoid startling your dog-person by approaching within their line of sight and gently touching a familiar spot, like the shoulder, to wake them. You can also place your hand near their nose, as the scent of you or a treat may help rouse them.

Let’s set up the giggle microphone for the joke of the day and see what happens. This one’s called “Relaxation Time.”

Ron was sitting impatiently at the bus stop, constantly checking his watch.

“What are you doing?”

“The bus is late, and I need to go home.”

“Oh, you have some urgent things to do, I suppose?”

“No, I just want to sit down, do nothing, and relax.”

“Well, you are sitting, doing nothing. Might as well just relax and enjoy the time here.”

And now we have a heartline from Phương Chi in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam
