It’s not something you see every day. “And when she first came in, she was a cub. And she was very, very ill.” A man built an incredibly close relationship with a fox he rescued, and now the pair hug and cuddle every day.

“I was giving her six bottles a day. Eventually, we got close. We became best friends. To have a baby deer, as a friend; free to go. You just help them with their milk, and they like you. It was awesome. She’s wild and she will remain wild. I want her to be a wild, free, happy deer. I started having walks in the forest with her. What’s on the menu here?” During these walks, she learned how to forage for herself.

“For two weeks, Mose hid in, and we have a little loft space that looks over the living room. Dunder went right up there, sat next to her, never left her side, and made her feel comfortable, until one day I saw her out of the corner of my eye coming down out of the loft into the living space and she never looked back.”

“Teton had holes in his hooves, so it hurt him to walk. But then, the most surprising thing happened: Phantom walked right up to Teton. And just having Phantom next to him made Teton feel calm enough to let the rescuers help him.”
