Helen really shows us how she feels with physical touch. We were looking to rescue a companion for Helen. And then all of a sudden, Margaret just started licking her. From that moment on, they have been inseparable.”“I gave him a free roaming environment and he was getting a lot more calm and within those six months he changed a lot. He has such a strong personality, and I really learned to find it endearing and charming. I think people don’t do a lot of research before they get rabbits as pets. Belv used to be untrusting of people, and I can tell now more and more that he trusts me.”Bree got lost on the streets of New York and ended up at the rescue where Camille works. “Chicks that age should be under their mothers keeping warm and basically I became his surrogate mother. And I just learned very quickly that he’s this wonderful, sentient being that just wants to be loved like all of us.” But roosters aren’t allowed to live in NYC. Bree and Camille moved out of the city and they don’t regret a thing. “That gives me a special feeling because for me, he’s such a gift.”
