Selection from the Holy Qur’an: Chapter 12 Yusuf (Joseph), Part 2 of 2

Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, was born in 570 AD in Mecca. At about age 40, He retired to a cave in the mountains and engaged in deep meditation. During this period of inner introspection, He first received messages from Allah through the Archangel Gabriel. The record of these divine revelations, which spanned over 23 years, can be found in the most holy book of Islam - the Qur’an. The story of Joseph in the Holy Qur’an, a continuous narrative, is considered one of the most beautifully written suras. They present an amazing variety of sciences and characters in a tightly-knit plot, and offer a dramatic illustration of some of the fundamental themes of the Holy Qur’an.
