Once upon a time, there was a Mother who went everywhere She could to find Her lost child. With Her own suffering heart, She never found Her child. But instead, She found the suffering within everyone, everywhere. “Mother of all” is Phạm Thiên Thư’s poem, music by Phạm Duy and performed by Thái Hiền. Ý Lan will return to the stage with a medley of songs by Trịnh Công Son. In fact, it will be a combination of two songs by Trịnh Công Son: Quỳnh Huong (Moon Cactus) and Ngẫu Nhiên (Serendipity), which Ý Lan explained, “touches upon the meaning of life.” It is a personal joy for me to introduce the next song because it was written in honor of one of the greatest painters of our world. Vincent van Gogh graced the world of art with His undying passion as He expressed Himself on canvas. In the world of the brush of colors and images, He was the pioneer, He was one of a kind, and He is my motivation. Don McLean wrote “Vincent” in honor of the genius – Vincent van Gogh. The song will be sung by Tuấn Cường, who some of my friends consider as the Tom Cruise or Richard Gere lookalike of the Vietnamese performing arts.
