Chemically, baking soda’s bicarbonate molecules react with an active ingredient in the glue called cyanoacrylate to produce a reactive ion that bonds more readily with other cyanoacrylate molecules. The end product is a super glue and baking soda plastic that has a cement-like consistency, forming a stronger, more durable bond. The increased strength and fast drying time make the blend perfect for quick surface repairs in regions with high traffic. It is also ideal for filling in surface gaps and cracks, and fixing broken objects like furniture. Furthermore, the super glue and baking soda mixture bonds more easily with plastics than plain cyanoacrylate, making it particularly useful for repairing chipped plastic materials.
