In today’s news, Thailand contributes funds to refugees through United Nations, new data enhances scientists’ understanding of climate change, New Zealand eco-startup creates compostable bioplastic plant pots, Indigenous engineers in North America use artificial intelligence to preserve endangered languages and cultural heritage, girls win global recognition for innovative glasses to improve eye health, vegan industry sees substantial growth in Spain, and retired US military dog-person and trainer reunited after two years of separation.

Knowing you follow a vegan lifestyle is music to my ears. I'd like to share a tip with you so you can be even healthier. A Harvard University-educated gastroenterologist has highlighted four reasons to avoid diet soda. First, it may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Research indicates that drinking two or more diet sodas daily raises stroke risk by 25%, heart disease by 33% and may lead to a 16% higher risk of early death compared to those who don’t consume them. Second, it can harm kidney health. Phosphoric acid in diet sodas, which is also used industrially to clean rust, may weaken bones by stripping them of calcium. Third, diet sodas can disrupt gut health, impacting insulin sensitivity and harming gut bacteria. Studies suggest the artificial sweeteners they contain, like aspartame, sucralose, saccharin, neotame, and acesulfame potassium-k, are toxic to beneficial gut bacteria. Lastly, despite fewer calories, diet sodas can increase cravings by triggering brain receptors that process hunger and satiation, potentially leading to over-consumption and poor eating habits.

The joke of the day is here to spread some good vibes, so let the amusement flow. This one's called “Rock Bottom Prices.”

Laney and Jacqueline were perusing the aisles of a record store.

You know you’re getting old when you walk into a record store and everything you like has been marked down to one dollar.

?!

And now we have a heartline from Chalita in Thailand
