In today’s news, US-based non-profit organization supports maternal nutrition around the world. Climate-change driven sea level rise impacting Mekong Delta in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam, Philippine city building modern animal-people care facility, Australia uses artificial intelligence robot to plant corals, man in United Arab Emirates saves child undergoing respiratory distress, UK vegan chocolate brand leads industry with major award wins, and Canadian firefighters rescue eagle-person trapped in tree.

Here is a garden care tip for you today. Harvest broccoli when the central head is firm, compact, and still deep green. Pick it before any yellow flowers open. Use clean, sharp pruning shears and cut the main stalk at a slight angle about 12–15 centimeters (5-6 inches) below the head. This angled cut helps water drain off instead of collecting on the stem, which reduces the risk of rot. Be sure to leave several lower leaves and all the side shoots intact. After the main head is removed, the plant will naturally begin producing smaller side heads over the next few weeks, and sometimes even for a month or more. Check these regularly and harvest them the same way for an extended crop. You can also pick a few leaves now and then, as broccoli leaves are edible and nutritious. When you’re done harvesting, compost any leftover stems or trimmings.

Brace yourself for maximum hilarity with the joke of the day. It’s called “The ID Struggle Is Real.”

Maddie was starting to get frustrated trying to sign up for a basketball tournament online. For her username, she tried terms like “Hoops” and “Hangtime” and got rejected. The computer pop-up kept saying: “That user ID is taken. Please select another.”

Maddie next tried “ForPeteSake!” and “ThisIsInsane!” When she saw her last two entries were also taken, Maddie realized she wasn’t the only one having a hard time registering!

And now we have a heartline from Hannah in the United States
