In today’s news, Japan extends emergency grant aid to support Zambia and Namibia drought, international study finds key to successful emission reduction policies, US researchers find consumption of animal-people meat increases type 2 diabetes risk, on its way to net zero, United Kingdom makes record investment in clean energy, young girl motivates youth to adopt environmentally friendly practices in India, new vegan restaurant Wish Tree opens in North Adams, Massachusetts, USA, and conservation station in China rescues 10 Tibetan antelope babies.

We have a useful tip for you today. Did you know that thyme plants can be used as a natural insect deterrent? After flowering, cut the plants back as far as possible until you see only green growth on the stems. Do not cut back to the bare wood since this may prevent it from regenerating. You can then use these clippings as scented mulch to scatter around other plants. Thyme's strong scent will repel many insects like cabbage butterflies. You can also grow herbs such as lavender and thyme near other plants that need protection. Additionally, flowers like nasturtiums can be used as enticing crops – these attract insects, thus keeping them away from other plants.

Our studio has opened its doors to welcome the joke of the day, so we suggest you get comfy. This one's called “Familiar Vegan Chocolate.”

A man gave his wife a box of vegan chocolates for her birthday and said:

“I got these for you because you’re the sweetest thing in my life.”

“But these appear to be the same vegan chocolates that I bought you for your birthday last year!”

“See? I knew they were sweet.”

And now we have a heartline from Da-eun in Korea
