A multi-agency report, compiled by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), concludes that to meet the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to within 1.5 degrees Celsius, the emissions reduction pledges made by countries for 2030 are grossly insufficient and would need to increase by 700%. According to the study, greenhouse gas concentrations have reached record levels in recent years, with over 75% of land-use change emissions resulting from agriculture, including grazing of animal-people.
Without enhanced mitigation actions, the world’s climate system could experience irreversible, catastrophic “tipping points,” while billions of people globally are exposed to devastating climate consequences. These encompass worsening sea level rise and extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts and heatwaves.
Many thanks for your crucial insights, WMO and all agencies involved. In Celestial upliftment, may humanity urgently adopt the eco-friendly vegan way to safeguard all life.
