In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News from the United States…
Following the loving example of Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), our Association members in Northern California, USA, continued a tradition of providing aid to those experiencing homelessness during the winter months of 2024. Our Most Caring Master inspired this practice in 1993, when She gave a lecture on November 27 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and afterward joined our Northern California Association members visiting local homeless shelters. There, She lovingly distributed vegan food and warm sleeping bags, bringing comfort and joy to those in need.
On November 17 and November 23, 2024, our Association members distributed sleeping bags, vegan snacks, drinks, warm socks, and winter jackets to unhoused individuals in Sacramento and San Francisco. In San Francisco, the relief packages included warm vegan fried rice and vegan turkey provided by Loving Hut San Francisco. Vegan treats were available for companion animal-persons to ensure they also received nourishment. In addition to the practical assistance, our Association members also distributed Supreme Master Television and Alternative Living flyers as inspiration for the compassionate vegan lifestyle.
As our Association members distributed these supplies outdoors where the homeless were staying, the recipients conveyed their gratitude for the help during this cold, rainy season. One recipient offered to help pass out the packages, while others requested additional packages to share with fellow unhoused friends in need. One sweet dog-person named Mila eagerly consumed the vegan treats within minutes and gave an affectionate thank-you kiss.
With heartfelt gratitude, we thank our Most Compassionate Master for guiding us to be better human beings and care for those in need. Our appreciation also goes to our California Association members for their loving support of the vulnerable. May we soon see a peaceful vegan world where all beings live in abundance and harmony as one family, in God’s loving Grace.
