Today’s Shining World Award program profiles a devoted animal-lover from California, United States, who believes in serving weaker sentient beings as a way of giving back to Mother Nature. As a follower of Hindu Dharma, the founder of PreetiRang Sanctuary practices the principle of Seva, which is the act of selfless service. Madhulika Singh began her journey of rescuing farm animal-people in 2013, when she established a sanctuary that is not only home to 60 animal-people but also a place where people are given an opportunity to interact and feel the unconditional love of these gentle beings. Let us hear about the turning point in Madhulika Singh’s consciousness that inspired a life of service to others. “And so I actually did some research, and I found out that even when a cow's udders are bleeding, she’s put on a milking machine three times a day. And I doubled up in pain just reading that, and immediately, my husband and I decided to give up milk. And then slowly, slowly, we gave up other milk products also. And as we were giving up these different milk products, we found slowly, slowly our way into the vegan world.”Upon hearing about their noble and exemplary efforts, our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai “Joyfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to the PreetiRang Sanctuary along with a humble contribution of US$10,000 in loving support for its benevolent work of promoting veganism to save our world, with all admiration and gratitude. May God Bless you abundantly.”“Dear Madhulika and Mukul, It is with great admiration and gratitude that we present to the PreetiRang Sanctuary the ‘Shining World Compassion Award’ for enriching lives through the practice of Karma Yoga. […] We are honored to present this Award in recognition of your love and kindness, uplifting the community by advocating for the vegan way of life and nurturing empathy for all beings. […] In the Lord's Eternal Love, Blessings, and Grace Supreme Master Ching Hai”“We are extremely grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for this letter. It's very relevant for the times, and it's profoundly meaningful because currently, the sustainability of Mother Nature and Mother Earth is seriously at risk. Animal farming must stop, and slaughterhouses must be closed permanently. People have to become vegan. Veganism is the only way into the future.”
